Welcome to 2021!

Welcome to the new pepoy.com! The website has had a major facelift, the galleries have been updated, many links added, and now it's time to bring you the latest news. A lot has happened in the last few years since I was active here (health issues derailed things for a while, but I'm much better now). The BIG news is that my favorite comics to work on, my own creation, "The Adventures of Simone & Ajax," are back! My Kickstarter for a new book of "The Adventures of Simone & Ajax" was successful, bringing in over 400 backers and over two and half times my initial goal, which means that book is happening. It's all written, and I'm working hard on the artwork for it. It will be out later this year directly from my own imprint, Spicy Tomato Studios. You missed the Kickstarter? Well, good news! I moved it over to Indiegogo InDemand, so you can still pre-order the book, plus many of the extra perks, like original art, are still available. Please visit the Indiegogo page at https://bit.ly/simoneandajaxgogo to find out more about the all-new, 128-page, hardcover collection of four new tales of a girl and a dinosaur, featuring pirates, cowboys, monsters, and detectives. Plus lemmings!

The other thing I've been working on recently that has Just come out is Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz's "Die Kitty Die: Starstruck." I inked Dan's pencils on his half of the book and also both penciled and inked one chapter myself. As well, I worked on two of the extra comics that went with the book, a "Jetta" special, for which I wrote and drew an new Jetta story, along with drawing one of the three covers you can choose from, and drew a few pin-ups for "Kitty's Cosmic Fashion Show." You can still order all 3 comics here: https://www.diekittydie.com/kickstarter-add-ons-1/

I also continue to do my every-issue retro-gag cartoon for Exotica Moderne Magazine. These cartoons are an homage to the classic pin-up cartoons form the Humorama mags of the 1950's, especially the work of my #1 infuence, Dan DeCarlo. You can read more about at https://www.houseoftabu.com/exotica-moderne-magazine and order the magazine at https://www.houseoftabu.com/category/magazines. Here's an example of a recent cartoon I drew for it:

I worked on a number of other things these last few years. Among them are:

dinosaucers_cove_embed-600x923.jpg

Dinosaucers for Lion Forge Comics, based on Michael Uslan 1980's animated series, this revamp written by Micahel. I redesigned the characters and world, pencilling and inking issues 1 and 2, pencilling #4, and drawing covers for all 5 issues and the paperback collection, which you can still buy at: https://www.amazon.com/Dinosaucers-Vol-1-Michael-Uslan/dp/1941302998/

Yellow Submarine for Titan Books, the official 50th Anniversary of the movie from The Beatles. Written and pencilled by Bill Morrison, I inked about half of it. I may have more news about this soon, but for now you can order this at: https://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Yellow-Submarine-Bill-Morrison/dp/1785863940/

The Simpsons for Bongo Comics. After 25 years of publication and 18 years of me working on it, The Simpsons Comics (and Bongo itself) came to an end, and I worked on it to, literally, the end, inking its final issue.

Red Sonja for Dynamite Comics. I drew 11 variant covers for the latest series, issues 8-18.

Doctor Who for Titan Comics. I drew 12 variant covers featuring all the modern-era Doctors in homages to classic DC and Marvel comics. You may have seen several solicited, but, unfortunately the project was scrapped last minute.

Archie Comics: I drew a few new covers for them for "Archie: The Married Life 10th Anniversary" #2, “Archie Vs Predator II” #4, and "Archie" #713, this last featuring my return to Katy Keene after 12 years.
