July 2011 Update

After nearly a year since the last update, this one is far overdue. Before giving you the latest, I'll start out by catching up on what's happened since the last update:

The Adventures of Simone & Ajax is still available. Written and drawn by me and published by IDW Publishing, it's the first paperback collection of Simone & Ajax, collecting all the recent color stories, "Simone, Queen of the Jungle," "The Case of the Maltese Duck", and "A Christmas Caper". As described on Amazon.com:

Mix: One wacky girl with one tiny dinosaur; Result: Big Fun! Collects three full-color, zany tales of Simone & Ajax, The Case of the Maltese Duck, A Christmas Caper, and Simone, Queen of the Jungle, plus extras, by Eisner-winner, Andrew Pepoy (FABLES, THE SIMPSONS). Intro by Mark Schultz (XENOZOIC TALES). Critics say: bit like the best issues of Cerebus, and a mood that harkens BONE. Readers say: ...the look of an Archie Comic, but the sensibilities of a Marx Brothers Movie. You'll say: I like it!

128 pages of fun can be yours! You can find it or order it through your local comics shop or bookstore. The Diamond Distributors easy order code for comic shops is Nov090854. It's also available from online booksellers. Get yourself a copy and one for a friend.

A note about the listing at various dealers: Some list the book as The New Adventures of Simone & Ajax and show a different cover taken from the Maltese Duck story, but it's all really the same book and will come with the cover art you see here on this page.

You can order it through the following:

In the USA: Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble

In CanadaAmazon.ca

In the UK: Amazon.co.uk or The Book Depository.com

In France: Amazon.fr

In Germany: Amazon.de

In India: Flipkart.com or Infibeam.com

In Australia: CDWow.com.au

It's also likely available from other sellers in these countries and others.

Jack of Fables, the Vertigo/DC Comics series I worked on (usually) since the first issue, ended a few months ago with the double-sized 50th issue. Since then I've continued to work on Fables itself, inking Eric Shanower on Fables #101 and helping out on parts of #'s 104 and 105, inking Mark Buckingham.

I also inked Norm Breyfogle on the first 7 issues of the "Archie Loves Betty" half of Life With Archie Magazine, for Archie Comics, and on #9 I both pencilled and inked "Archie Loves Betty".

As I have for many years, I continued to ink various issues of The Simpsons and Futurama for Bongo Comics. And as that catches us up on the old work news, I can happily say I'm still inking more comics for Bongo.

I'm also currently writing and drawing a new Katy Keene project for Archie Comics. Details are still to be announced, but keep an eye here for an update soon.

Lastly, I'm drawing covers for IDW's re-issues of the Archie Americana series of books. Each new, larger volume collects the interiors of both volumes previously done for each decade, the 1940s through the 1970s.

On the convention front, a piece of old news is I attended last year's Baltimore Comic-Con, a great show, where "Simone & Ajax: A Christmas Caper" had been nominated for a Harvey Award for "Special Award for Humor in Comics", which it lost, but with everyone else in the category being so good, it really was an honor just to be nominated. I also attended the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo, or C2E2 this past spring, which was a great time. This is shaping up into one of the great cons, so I hope more people with travel here to Chicago to check it out in 2012. I live here, so you know you'll find me there.

As for this year's conventions, you'll find me at the Chicago Comic-Con on August 11-14 in the Artists Alley. More news on that as I have it. While for only the third time in 22 years I'll have to miss Comic-Con International in San Diego, I do hope to attend some more cons later in the year. I'll post that news here.

Finally, my online art dealer is www.comiconart.com.You'll find original pages for sale from many comics I've worked on. New additions include new pages from FablesJack of Fables, updated pricing and art from Little Orphan Annie, and more. Also, Court, who runs the site, will be attending Comic-Con in San Diego, so look for his booth where you'll find many pages by me and others.

More frequent updates coming soon....
